Nifty. At first I thought I was going to enjoy seeing you cap your pistol with half frozen fingers - a procedure that requires dropping about 15 caps in the snow for everyone you get adequately seated - and then saw the nice conversion cylinder on what, is that an 1860 Army? Is that a Kenny Howell RD conversion, or is Krist making them now? Looks like it functions fine. How do you like it? Good thing no one was out hunting fur that day, your head might be in a taxidermy shop now!

Thanks guys, nice you enjoy the cold snowy shooting. it was only -15 degree Celsius = 5 degree Fahrenheit and the day before we had -25 degree Celsius = -13 degree Fahrenheit, at least no mosquitoes. And here I am in Texas thinkin its freezing cold in the mid 30s fahrenheit. I have only seen a good snow here once in my life, last year we got about 4-6 inches, usually we get about... .0001 inches that melts instantly. Finally got to have a real snowball fight ;D

Girdi, I need to get out there so you can show me some snow tracking Sapmi style. I grew up riding, camping in surviving mostly on the plains of the Mojave desert and up in the local mountains. It gets cold and it snows here also but It would feel like a warm day to you. All I need to know is how easily I can get my Buffalo gun through customs so I can come see your neighborhood. LOL

Darby. You freezing at mid 30s Fahrenheit;) thats nearly spring time for us and can take of a lot of clothing. We use to have 30 to 40 inches snow, even more some years. That its a winter and its nice clean air and very nice when summer coming after that. It will get down into the teens and 20s soon, but it was just 80 degrees a few weeks ago so I am not use to the cold yet...then as soon as I get used the cold it will be back in the 70s and 80s again. Awesome tipi! hey darby i think it was in 2006 it was easter weekend and i came to tyler to shoot with the peacemakers. it was kind of cool when i left monroe la. so i only wore a heavy bib front shirt. shortly after the safety meeting it started snowing so hard we had to stop during a stage and let the snow slow down. and there i am in nothing but a bib front shirt. got kind of cold that day It gets deceptively cold here thanks to the humidity. Once at the post office I overheard three natives of Montana, Colorado and Boston complaining about how cold it gets here.

No, not hunting Sapmi, I meant tracking like a Sapmi. If customs would not like the Plains Rifle, I guess I'd leave the FN-Fal at home too. Oh well. Dave, Sapmi dont shows much tracks in the snow but you might mean tracks from animals? In my woods we have a lot whitetail deer, lynx, badger and brown bear a smaller bear like grizz, and those damn red foxes who use take my hens if they are faster than me before i shoot. Even wild boar have start coming up here down from europe which destroy the fotest a lot, so sooner or later i take them with bow and arrows. I live whole summer up in my forest camping and surviving in my own made indian tepee. I know I should have a Sapmi lapp tent but have not make one yet. You gonna have a hard time with paperwork to get through customs with your Buffalo gun. Here is 4 pictures from four directions when we have summer.

I love it when the temp changes rapidly over the course of one day. 80f until 4pm then a cold front comes in and suddenly its 50 and I am stuck without anything warm.
