i started this here little forum for like minded people as myself.
i have been shooting black powder for 25 years. any thing from muzzle loaders, cap and ball revolvers to black powder cartridge guns.
during this time i have been involved in some kind of historical re-enacting. i started off with civil war re-enacting as a teenager, then moved onto re-enacting the fur trade and cowboy action shooting.
my main interest has always been hunting. mostly whitetail deer.
there are plenty of re-enacting forums on the computer, but i haven't been able to find much on hunting with black powder cartridge guns.
so i hope this forum will fill a void and allow people to learn more about black powder hand loading and hunting.
i would like to see period correct hunting with the proper gear that a frontiersman of the old west would had used. i don't want to limit to one particular time period, but the plains rifle, the big bore single shot rifle such as sharps and remingtons and the repeating rifles would be welcomed discussions here.
i also invite all to make suggestions on making this new forum grow
