I attached a picture of my personal box that I use to hold my first person pocket items and knick-knacks. How does everyone else store their pocket items when not in use? -Dave Attachments:

T.D. - Here is how I keep some of my items in the fashion you reference: Top photo are mostly knives, all those lying flat are Hanwei Forge/Paul Chen repops (I regret not getting one of the two in the Historic Bowies collection– the half horse/half alligator bowie that you have and the Sam Bell ). The knives in the back are Atlanta Cutlery repops that I've documented to have some sort of lineage. Also a few other goodies there in the mix. Also in this photo are some period reloading tools and other related parephernalia. The lower photograph is of some of my stuff I like to look at, was lucky to find and old display case for the collection. Not sure if the case is 50 years old or 150 – tough to say but it has all the queues (and proper screws & hardware) to be period correct to the 1870s or thereabouts. I have other places I keep other things but mostly in drawers and the like and not something I can keep out on display easily. Brass

That is a nice collection my friend. I am very impressed, jealous too. It makes me realize that I need a powder tin an many more knives for the collection.

T.D. - I figure the collection will only be acceptable when it's time to pass over to the other side. There is always more great stuff to find and research, though (alas) not enough samolians and time in life to cover it all.
However, no matter what it is we have in our collections I'm philisophical about it - I figure we only just borrow things for awhile then it goes to the next guardians. I just hope those in the future who end up with the stuff we have will do it justice when it's their turn and so on.

Brass-I heard a pastor once put it in the same terms as to why we should not love the things of this world too much.
Sound advice.
