Thanks for you posts, I have managed to find someone that will make me my requirements. I have gone for a Crow pattern. I shall post a photo when the project is completed.

A real braintan one can be had or the hides to do it with but they are more expensive .Enough hides would be about 200.00 and shipping it takes a couple and case about 100.00 more but if your going to bead it I would just go for the hides.Either me or Billy can fix you up with either I have two fixing to be ready.

i have that same buck skin case. it is very nicely made. i have had mine for close to 10 years now and have drug it through mud and had it sopping wet, and it is still in good shape. i use it for my henry rifle and it is perfect for that. i put my sharps in it and the hammer is too tall . where the red felt is sewn in at it is a big seam and welt and the hammer to a sharps will not go pass that. my plains rilfe has a 32 inch barrel and the hammer is not as tall as a sharps and it will fit in it tightly with about 2 inches of flap at the opening shipping finished brain tan hides over seas would not be that expensive as two hides will fit in a medium size flat rate box

Hi all. I have been away for a fews days or so and just picked up on the Buckskin cover. Yes it is for my 1874 sharps Judge, i have arranged to have the beadwork made for me by someone else and the skins are braintaned. so far so good. I am going to sew on the bead work on the narrow end before i assemble it, as it has to be turned inside out. is that the correct method. or any suggestions.
