Hey thats where I'm from!
Great picture, would it happen to be taken by Ty Guillory? Once I get a full outfit together I plan on having him take a Tintype for me.

Thanks!
Haven't had a chance yet. I was on the charter to start the NCOWS posse, but I never got around to a shoot and I believe my NCOWS membership has expired. I am too broke at the moment to do any shooting or paying of dues. Do you portray a buffalo hunter when shooting?

i know to well about being broke. i let my sass membership run out last year. we don't have a ncows group around here, in the monroe louisiana part of the world. most every one that shoots here are more in to the competition than the history. the last time i was in tyler they were talking about starting a ncows group, and i have since heard it is on the 3rd weekend. do you know if that is correct? i have never shot in a ncows shoot but i think i would fit in better. tyler would be the closest ncows to me.
i portray more of a trapper/scout when i cowboy shoot. i wear my full buckskins (brain tanned of course) and shoot black powder. depending on my mood i'll shoot my beloved henry rifle and 3rd generation colt navies, or my improved henry and a pair of 44 colt open tops.
do you by chance know pecos red and o.g. pantego?

I'm more interested in the primitive camping opportunities NCOWS offers, but shooting is a close 2nd.
According to the peacemakers site, it looks like it is every third weekend. They don't have the 2011 schedule up yet. Im hoping I will be able to get involved around March or so.
A 1860 Henry has been calling my name.
Not familiar with those fellows, are they peacemakers?

Here is my tintype done by William Dunniway. I am in it with my pards Ian McWherter and Don Smith. This was done a couple of years ago and was used in a civil war book. Attachments:

It is wierd to see the family resemblance. Here is an original of my ancestor Charles Perry (c. 1870). I took a modern picture of myself for comparison. Attachments:
